30 days and counting to departure!

We are 30 days away from departure to Brazil.  I'm reading a daily devotional called 'Before You Go'  Today is a day of prayer for the group members.  There will be four of us leaving on the 20th of September.  Please keep us in your prayers.  We especially need your prayers now for preparing our hearts and travel mercies.

  1. 15 days until departure. From our book study:
Serving those in Charge. 1 peter 5: 5-6 Likewise, you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he might exalt you in due time. Matthew 20:26 whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant
PRAYER: Father, thank You again for the leaders You have chosen to bring across my path as gifts to me on this trip. I submit myself to You by submitting to those You've placed over me and around me. Fill my heart with a readiness to serve with humility and a readiness to receive the input You want to bring into my life through them.

  2. YOU CAN HELP! Here are some ideas for the team to bring:
-Glow in the dark bracelets or necklaces
-paper lunch bags and or paper plates (believe it or not they don't have these here and they are great for craft projects.)We only have room for about 5 of each of these.
-Good used summer clothes for VERY HOT WEATHER is always great for small kids.

A world without children is a world without newness, regeneration, color, and vigor. Children must be valued as our most priceless possession. (James C. Dobson)
"But Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to Me, and so not forbid them; for such is the kingdom of heaven'." Matthew 19:14

  3. THE DECEPTION THAT RESULTS IN COMPLAINING
Philippians 2:14 "Do all things without complaining and disputing"
Proverbs 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit."
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."
PRAYER: Father, I choose to approach this mission trip with praise on my lips, for You are a great God, and You are in charge. I thank You for all that You will have me encounter on this trip, both the pleasant and the unpleasant. I can thank You because I know that all things will work together for good for my teammates and me, because we love You and we are called according to Your purpose. Let my heart not embrace any temptation to complain, lest my complaints displease You, infect my team, or dull the effectiveness of this ministry.
