If you had a chance to connect to the Project AmaZon website http://www.projectamazon.org/ from my first blog, you have learned that their short term goal is to enable Brazilians to establish 1000 churches in the Amazon basin by 2014. With the help of short term missionaries the full time staff has completed 500 toward the goal.
Our group has been blessed by the faithful membership of our local church - Geneseo Evangelical Free Church and the majority of our trip expenses have been met. In addition, the Project AmaZon team has written:
"It would be a great blessing
to the mission and to the Brazilian churches if your team could bring a
contribution to help buy some of the construction materials needed for your
work project. This is not mandatory. But if the Lord should lead your team to
help the mission in this way, it would be a great help."
Since my first note, many of you have asked if there would be a way that you could bless our short term trip. If you would like, our church is collecting funds to pass along to purchase the materials needed for the church that we will help build while we are there in September.
Should you be led to help in this way, please feel free to send contributions to:

Please continue to pray for our group as we finalize our preparations. And that God would open our hearts and minds to serve in whatever way is needed.
